Founded in 1994 by Gabriele Maria Serpilli, the company develops in-house technologies for the automotive sector, integrating mechanical design, electronics, and control software. THE FOUNDER

Biography

Gabriele M. Serpilli was born in Ancona and is the youngest of ten children. From a young age, he has had a strong passion for motorcycles and engines, which led him to graduate with honors in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Marche. After moving to Emilia, a hub of excellence in Italian mechanics, he gained crucial experience in the automotive sector and founded Soft-Engine, a project dedicated to engine development combining research, innovation, and technical application. Married to Rosanna Persichetti, he is the father of Caterina and Roberta and the grandfather of Agata and Amelia. His career blends passion, expertise, and innovation at the heart of Italian motor engineering.

Publications and Studies

After graduation, Gabriele M. Serpilli chose the entrepreneurial path and founded Soft-Engine, a company specializing in engineering consulting and development in the motor sector. Author of technical publications in Italian and French, he writes for leading magazines such as Moto Tecnica, consolidating his authority in mechanical and motorcycle engineering. In recent years, he has developed a department dedicated to vintage motorcycles, carrying out specialized restorations and fully functional historic motorcycles, with full respect for their original authenticity.

Dynamometers

“Dynamometers are scientific instruments.” This is the philosophy of Gabriele M. Serpilli and Soft-Engine, inspired by the studies of Isaac Newton and James Watt. For Eng. Serpilli, the dynamometer is a measuring instrument based on the scientific method. From this vision comes the development of dynamometers for cars, motorcycles, karts, internal combustion and electric engines, as well as systems for suspensions, flow testing, and cams. In a sector often lacking design rigor, Soft-Engine stands out for its integrated approach between mechanics, electronics, and software, ensuring reliable, repeatable, and scientifically validated measurements.
